Sleeping is a theatrical creation directed by Serge Nicolaï, bringing together Yoshi Oida, Yumi Fujimori, Jennifer Skolovski and Carina Pousaz on stage in a sensitive universe between memory, presence and disappearance.
For this project, I designed the video for the performance, developing an immersive visual language conceived in dialogue with the stage, light, live music and performers. The projected images accompany bodies and movements like a living material, between apparition, texture and mental space.
The video device seeks less to illustrate than to extend the scenic sensation, in a writing where image becomes rhythm, breath and depth. The creation relies on a close relationship between scenography, temporality and perception, in order to build a sensitive visual experience serving live performance.
Presented in France and internationally, Sleeping develops a minimalist and immersive aesthetic in which video fully contributes to the dramaturgy of the performance.
